On Thanksgiving weekend, the Pender Islands Food Bank is hosting its second annual Food and Funds Drive. Join us on Saturday, October 11 from 10AM to 2PM at the Driftwood Centre for some great music by the Scanlan Brothers with a donation of food or funds.

Calling pumpkin carvers of all ages! Pick up your free pumpkin starting October 23 at Hope Bay or the Dockside Realty office at Driftwood Centre. Create your masterpiece. Write your name, phone number and age group (under 12 or 12+) on the back in waterproof ink. Deliver your Jack O'Lantern to Hope Bay by October 28. Prizes will be awarded for the Scariest and Most Creative in each age group, as well as a grand prize People's Choice Award. Come to Hope Bay Hollow after October 28 to view the Jack O'Lanterns and vote for your favourite. Enjoy the Hope Bay merchants while you're here!

Here’s to Your Good Health Speaker Series

2025 Speakers Series: October 24 at 7pm at the Community Hall. Wildife-Transmitted Disease: The Pathogen & The Vector with Dr. Helen Schwantje, the former wildlife veterinarian for British Columbia. Topics covered will include potential for zoonoses and other public health issues in areas of high human contact with deer and their parasites/pathogens, such as Lyme Disease, and health implications for wildlife of high population density.
