Pender hosts many great festivals and community events throughout the year. In the summer, enjoy BBQs, live music and art shows. Don’t miss our Fall Fair and be sure to ring in the new year at the Magic Lake Lantern Festival.
Calling pumpkin carvers of all ages! Pick up your free pumpkin starting October 23 at Hope Bay or the Dockside Realty office at Driftwood Centre. Create your masterpiece. Write your name, phone number and age group (under 12 or 12+) on the back in waterproof ink. Deliver your Jack O'Lantern to Hope Bay by October 28. Prizes will be awarded for the Scariest and Most Creative in each age group, as well as a grand prize People's Choice Award. Come to Hope Bay Hollow after October 28 to view the Jack O'Lanterns and vote for your favourite. Enjoy the Hope Bay merchants while you're here!

Dress up! Cash prize for best costumes. Get a free drink for singing a Hallowe'en song. 7pm til late.

New Moon Lodge is sponsoring a Hallowe'en Colouring Contest. Find entries and contest details in the October Pender Post. Enter by Oct 31 at noon. Prizes!

Join DJ Marc for the Halloween Howl Family Dance at the Community Hall on Friday, October 31 from 6:30PM to 8:10PM. Head out for a bonfire and grab a hot dog from the Fire Hall then back to the dance. The film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice follows.

The Pender Island Concert Society presents classical guitarist Alec Pearson from Vancouver for a solo recital featuring Spanish, Italian and Latin American composers of the last 200 years, along with some of his own music. November 5 starting at 7PM at the Community Hall. Tickets avaialble at Talisman Books and online on the Ptarmigan Arts website.
Join the South Pender Historical Society for an evening of music with Lydia Hol and guests at the Church of the Good Shepherd on November 14. Doors open at 7PM. Tickets available at Talisman Books.
