The store is a project of the Pender Island Community Service Society.  Meetings are held quarterly, and membership costs $5.  Voting privileges are extended to all members who have volunteered six hours per month in the previous year. Nu-To-Yu is a treasure trove of gently used clothing, accessories, books, toys, furniture, small appliances, strollers, bicycles, and other household goods. Prices start at 10 cents (yes, 10 cents!) and it is not unusual to find a suit jacket for $3, or a toaster for $2.
